Conclusion
Good administrators recognize that the most valuable tools they have are the eyes and ears of staff whether it be in the classroom or on the construction site. Staff are very perceptive at discerning if there is an atmosphere of care and concern present in their work environment. When staff observe demonstrated actions and policies that enhance their safety, it can make difficult duties somewhat easier. A staff safety program that promotes the safety and wellness of staff, both on and off duty, also can enhance peer working relationships, as well as foster good will between staff and management. An effective staff safety program also can help promote and reinforce the ideals of teamwork, commitment, communication and professionalism.2
